DRYTAC Facemont question

Jim Hill

New Member
I received my FREE sample pack of two 8 x10 sheets of Facemount but there were no instructions on how to use it.

Is there a certain temperature to reach to activate the adhesive when using a roller laminator with this product?

Would like to hear from anyone who has used this product to get some tips on using it.

I will only be using Facemount on stickers that are about 5" x 5" so I am not sure if I need a laminator or not.

Thanks Jim

Face mount doesn't need heat it's a pressure adhesive.

I would recommend a laminator but 5" you may be able to apply with simple hand instrument.

Facemount tutorial

I would like to hear from anyone who is using Facemount or has used it as to how they applied it.

Do you use a roller laminator or just use something like the Big Squeegee or even just a small squeegee?

Another question is how do peel it apart. I have tried the exacto knife and maybe it is just my eyes even though I have 20/20 vision but how to you get it apart?

Since I will only be using Facemount on stickers 5" x 5" and it is pressure sensitive is simple hand pressure enough or does it take more then that to activate the adhesive?

It's an interesting product and I would love to try it and see if it works.

Thanks for any help and advice you can offer. Jim

The sample that I was sent from DRYTAC say's PSF Facemount and that's all there is.

There is no grid printed on the front.

Maybe I have the wrong material because the only thing it say's is DRYTAC PSF Facemont.

Since the material is pressure sensitive what type of laminator should I purchase?

Special Thanks Jim

I have been using it for years. Mine has never come with grid.

just use your nails!!! The liner is there. It's a very basic adhesive.

Crazy that some get it with a grid and others do not.

Please see the attached photo of what I received from DRYTAC in 8 x 10 sheets.

Chafro I have a question for you.

I was wondering if maybe the reason that some people get their DRYTAC Facemont with a grid on it is because they purchase it in rolls.

Do you purchase yours in rolls or sheets?

I have been taking your advice and trying to use my finger nails to separate the different layers and I was wondering do you apply Facemount manually or with a roller laminator?

Because my nails are not very long I have been using an Exacto knife to life each layer.

Thanks for your advice on using Facemount which I think once I figure out just how to use it will be the answer I have been searching for.

Out of every 100 decals I sell maybe between 2% or 3% ask for inside of glass mounting so it's really a very small part of the business.

Thanks Jim

I buy rolls and they have no grid.

I use a seal laminator. I face mount photograps to plexi so the prints that I mount are normally big. We do from 8"x10" all the way to 4'x8'. I would say 25" average. It's a great quality adhesive.

Special Thanks for the tip.

How simple can it get a piece of tape on each side did the trick and made a pain in the rear job easy.

I should have thought of that but sometimes the simple solution is right in front of us.
