Dun & Bradstreet scam

Got an email from D&B telling me that my credit score has changed. I pay
everything with a CCard (mucho air miles ) and do not buy anything
on credit so I was not much concerned. It just seemed like a scam- they
were recommending their 'SelfMonitor™' service so I did a quick google
and the 'SelfMonitor™' service is $499 and then your score would 'be
healed'. Website is :

Do we need protection from reputable ( since 1841) businesses now-
along with the spammers?

I own 2 different businesses and get these e-mails twice a year at both businesses. When I call they try to sell you one of their products. I then get the phone number to dispute resolution. They tell me how many dings I have on my report, I say everything is paid on time and in full. I dispute the files and they send a request to whoever put in the bad report. Every time I do this they get removed. I finally decided to ignore them because it takes up my time. I told them it seemed awfully fishy that they always get corrected.

I dont bother with any of their paid services either. We do however make sure to update our information yearly though. If you do a lot of business with the government in any way having a DNB number and occasionally updating your company info on DNB is mandatory. I dont care about their calls telling me something dinged us or checked us out.... I'm not going to pay them and as far as I know we have never lost a DoD or other federal contract because of it.
