Durable dibond sign. layers? hand uv coating?

Hi everyone,
I'm stepping my first steps with Dibond signs and have some questions that are a bit hard to find in the forum archive.

We are printing with Mimaki jfx1631 plus and LH140 or LF200 inks.

My need is a sign that last long in direct sunlight.

A. I've been reading that printing in layers will be the best, can someone give me some info about this? I've always printed in one layer.

B. Does anyone tried a manual uv varnish coating? with a hand roller? I want to UV print on the Dibond and then to apply by hand with a EPDM roller the UV varnish, and then to dry it with my printer lamps. can it be done? what do I need for the apllication?

Best regards,

Shahar.
