DX4 printhead cable short result whammy board

I talked to a Mimaki Tech and he said if I shorted the cable on the HCN1 right hand side of the printer head. The head was probably, but may not be toast.
He also said I could plug it in and in all likelyhood it would work or not give a good test pattern. (Should be okay to test though just dont short the cable again.) Does anyone have any thoughts on this. My mainboard had a bad transistor and resistoras a result of the short. "Man those MacMedia guys are on top of things!!"

Yup hopefully tomorrow! I am still thinking about trying the head it is 825.00 ya know??
