Need Help DX7 Head with Just two conenctors each side, not 4, 31pin instead of 29pin?

i bought a cheap (now i know why) DX7 head which i still can send back.

Please check the pictures, the Mutoh is the old Printhead one and the other DX7 is the bought printhead

The DX7 has two connectors on each side and not four on each side as usual.
the connectors has 31pin and not 29pin as usual.
does anyone know this head and can tell me something about it?
can it be used with 29 to 31pin cable?

I'd guess it's for some other printer, I don't think a '29-31' pin cable would exist as that means two pins go no where. I would say it's risky putting it in the printer as the pins might be wired to different places than on yours which could cause damage to the head and/or printer board. I don't know, these are just possibilities.

I'd also be careful how you are placing that new head down on that cloth mask, it could get dust and other things stuck in it or scratched and they might not want to refund it then.

Send it back. It's not the right head and even trying to make it work is pointless and if you put it in your printer, it could get really expensive, as it will likely fry some portion of your electronics...

I've been fixing machines in the field and selling print heads for over 10 years and I've never seen a DX7 head with only 4 total connections. I agree with Jim. I wouldn't put it in my machine. Even plugging the cables in the wrong order on a regular DX7 will fry things.
