Question easiest way to make a template, for REO sign riders

i anticpate doing quite a few 6x24 sign riders (sintra, perhaps some coro) and i would like to run them on 48x96 komatex
BEING LAZY i had setup a label template in MS word did,a mail merge, created a document, made pdf & scaled so the riders came out
the correct size.

i am starting to think i should just make a template in Illustrator or FLexi, but have resisted this sofar

how have others handled variable data printing? am i better off just sticking with my workaround with MS office?

I use the print merge function in Corel Draw to print the signs directly to the RIP.

There's a text merge feature that reads content from a Notepad note and puts it into your file where/how you want.
