We have 2 computers using an old version of enroute on a perpetual license that does everything we need. We wanted to add another computer but trying to use the lower tier subscriptions we kept running into ridiculous issues that prevented us from doing simple things like basic routing or importing/exporting files in different formats. Calling support did nothing and they told us we'd have to purchase the "complete" subscription to do what we needed. So we decided it wasn't worth paying that much and called them to cancel it. Only then they offered a different version called enroute lite that is not an option to purchase online and was never suggested by support. The only downside was that you had to pay for the entire year upfront but it was less than half the price of the yearly cost of the complete version and did everything we needed.

So it's still a subscription, but with export/import filters unlocked? I'm going to guess it doesn't allow relief work?
If you're interested in a much cheaper alternative, I use sheetcam, it was like $250 for a perpetual license, and the guy maintaining it has helped with some great customizations for my post processor.

i still use enroute and love it, but they won't even give you the time of day unless you are paying for the subscription.
