EPS File Too Big. Can I Make it smaller?

I have an EPS File of a hedge that I bought online.
When I drag it into Flexi it freezes up because it's too big.
Can I make it smaller?
I'm not worried about losing some of the quality.
I have Adobe Illustrator and Corel, but not well versed in either.

You should be able to fix it up in either Illy or Corel.
I'd try Illustrator first see what it is in there that is giving Flexi fits.
Depending on what is in the eps the easiest way to make it manageable might be to turn it into a bitmap at the size you need either in AI or Photoshop.

Try opening it in Illustrator and resaving it without the TIF preview. That will reduce the size and has no effect on the quality of the file.

Open in Illustrator and re-save as an earlier version (Illustrator 10).

Is the file all vectors or is there also a bitmap in there as well?

There may be too many nodes, if it will open in Corel you could try to clean up the vectors.

Convert to a .tif.

I wonder why it is so big. bring it into Illy and see what's going on. see what the physical size is and just what is making this thing so large. I would keep it an .eps vector if you can as it will output better than a raster
