Epson 11880 cutting issue

My printer is set to cut the film automatically after 60 seconds of dry time. Yesterday it just quit, and I have to push the button to manually cut it. I have searched the boards and internet and am coming up empty. When it is supposed to be cutting it appears like it is trying to because the assembly moves to the left a little...and then returns home instead and says ready to print.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
