Does anyone know how to use different regional ink in their epson s80600? It looks like s80680 has different ink and the only differences are main board and or firmware to use the different chips. Can you just swap main boards and use the different chip or just upload the country regional firmware to use regional ink?

going back 25 years, the epson stylus pro 7600 came in 2 flavors, photo dye or ultrachrome
the machine was "born" the same, but when you loaded your first set of starter cartidges, it flashed the firmware
your ink choice was carved in stone

you needed to replace one the circuit boards to reverse the choice & epson discouraged you from doing so.

over the years i have noticed that bad ideas are often repeated.
so, my guess would be it will be much more difficult than it should be
