We currently print legal trial exhibits on pre-prepped foam core (pre-applied inkjet paper mounted to boards -- which is no longer avail. at large sizes) using an old Mimaki JV4. Are looking to upgrade to a new printer, taking into account that this pre-prepped foam core is no longer avail. Since we don't have full-on production facility (laminators/etc.), we would ideally like to print directly on foam core if possible, and have heard that this Epson can print directly on regular foam core.
Has anyone done this with this printer? Looking for feedback on the quality of doing so.
We are working in an area with no ventilation, so it's important that the ink doesn't have toxic fumes, and we need instant-dry. We never need to print banners/fabric/etc. -- only indoor mounted trial exhibits, where color quality is important.
Open to suggestions if another cost-effective printer fits the bill. Have also been researching the possibility to getting a different eco solvent printer of some type and printing on adhesive-backed vinyl, for application to standard foam core. Being able to print directly to foam core would be simpler/faster/easier though...
TIA!
