EPSON SURECOLOR S30670 DUMPING A TON OF INK INTO FLUSHING PAD

I opened up my printer panel to clean and there was ink everywhere. It was overflowing from the flushing pad holder. I just cleaned it a week ago and it was fine. I cleaned it all up, did a light head cleaning and there is already a 1/2" of ink again. Anyone know what could cause this?

Pour some solvent cleaner that comes with the printer into the flush box after you clean the grid that pops out

Yep, our tech recently advised to do this with every cleaning on our 80600... solid advice.
