Equipment Panel - Screen Print Or Adhesive Vinyl?

I have a customer who has had equipment panels (12"x24" ish - see attachment) screen printed in the past but their screen print guy quit and is curious about replicating this using vinyl (solid printed piece - maybe diecut the holes for the knobs). The panels aren't handled a great deal, obviously they would be laminated. My concern is that the edges may fail or that it's just not going to look as professional as something screen printed.

Curious on your thought. Thanks!

We printed equipment panels for customers and no complaints so far...the feedback has been positive from them.. If they do choose prints I would strongly suggest using a high tack adhesive like a 3M IJ39 with 94 primer.

What kind of quantities? Have you looked at direct printing? I always preferred screenprinting for something like that but it's getting harder to find. I have done some equipment panels with the Edge, both laminated vinyl and reverse lexan. As long as the client knows it's differences it should be fine.

if printed use a hi tack like mentioned or oracal 3105HT and then use a 5mil poly carbonate lamination to make it durable.

That's nothing. Print them, lam 'em and stick them on and carve out the holes with a sharp knife.

If you were doing hundreds, then if ya can't find a screen printer, just find someone with a flatbed, then liquid lam 'em with spray.
