Ever strip a philllips head screw on your printer?

I've changed a few parts on my VersaCamm and never could find a phillips head screwdriver that would fit really tight in the screws, real easy to round one off. One day on a car forum someone was complaining about stripping screws on a Mazda dashboard removal.

Turns out some Japanese products use a different type of screw, it's called JIS, Japanese Industrial Standard. Couldn't find any of those screwdrivers locally, did find a set at McMaster Carr. They fit the Roland screws perfectly. They have a slightly different taper and a different radius in the corners.

Thanks for the TIP, what did you pay for your jis screwdriver set?

What sizes id you get (that works on the Roland printer)?

I found a set of 4 on Amazon for $27.10 (see photo below), FREE shipping if I add something else to the order to make $35.

If the stripped screw is in a good spot -- you can dremel a groove across it and use a flat screwdriver to remove it :0)

My step brother works on computers at a nuclear plant, he got me set of those. I had the same problem, he knew about the difference.
