ink should still have a good shelf-life of say, a year or soon after, if unopened and the mylar seal is still intact. Just remember that your cartridge has most likely been sitting on a shelf for a good long time, and i'm sure your printer would appreciate a long-gentle stirring of the cartridge before shoving it in.
Ok, just so I understand, you are saying NOT to shake the cartridge back and forth, but rather a gentle stirring, can you be more specific, how do you stir a cartridge?
