Extended Gamut Ink Permanence on New Epson S9170 Printer.....

Would anyone have some information about the permanence of the
extended gamut inks in the newly announced S9170?

This new printer has Red, Orange, and Green inks. Given recent solvent equipment that
has exceedingly poor Orange ink permanence, I think it is important to know.

I think its the same ink - UltraChrome GS3 - as the 80600 , only the green is new. Probably same exact ink performance as the 80600

"The latest addition to the SureColor family, the S9170 combines Epson’s renowned UltraChrome GS3 ink chemistry with an enhanced 11-color ink system"

Epson's pigment inks have historically all been very very solid performers in regards to longevity and lightfastness.
While I have no real data, I suspect the orange as well as all the other color pigments are the same they've been using in the Ultrachrome ink line for years

"The SureColor S9170 builds on Epson’s tradition of using the **UltraChrome GS3 ink chemistry**, a solvent-based ink formulation that combines durability with exceptional color reproduction. The GS3 inks are known for their durability, offering high levels of scratch resistance, weather resistance, and lightfastness, ensuring that prints remain vibrant and high-quality even when exposed to harsh environments.

Epson’s UltraChrome GS3 inks also have a low environmental impact, being nickel-free and Greenguard Gold certified. This means that prints produced with the SureColor S9170 can be used in environments such as schools, hospitals, and other sensitive areas where environmental safety is critical."

To give an idea of what permanence testing should be about(although these folks focus on aqueous inkjet):

Epson has in the past used Wilhelm Research- albeit never seemingly with solvent inkjet.
