Any recommendations on paint for outdoor slate sign panel 3'x6'? They are wanting to paint white?

Will this be White lettering on raw Slate?

They are wanting to paint the already white painted, faded slate white again, then black lettering on the white slate.

So, we aint painting slate, we are painting on top of stuff already painted. You need to post a pic. Aerosls will not last. Oils do not outlast latex, i would go with latex myself
