Falcon Outdoor I - Taste the rainbow

The heads are printing every color in stripes of dots on my 4 foot wide material, about 3 feet to the left (pretty much the middle of the machine).

Since the job I'm doing today is only 3 feet high it won't be an issue but I'd like to get this problem resolved. Read a lot from other threads about cleaning and replacing the T-Line and some other things but saw no 'one clear solution'.

I've drawn arrows pointing to the stripes in their respective colors.

Thanks in advance! :)

that is a data issue. something is shorting out. i'd look for loose data ribbons, ink on the boards, but be careful. that machine could self destruct if you keep running it undiagnosed.

Reseated all data ribbons and don't see any ink on the boards... Still have the problem in the same spot and a new photo for you.

Any other suggestions? Maybe a board needs replacing? :(

when you seated the ribbons, did you take them out, inspect the ends and then replace? not sure about the board. but this vertical hit of color is definitely what happens when the head gets a command to print out of nowhere. ...the fact that it is all the colors would point to something before the print head cable. possibly slider board cable, or some other board. send these pics to ken at mac media in new york and see what he thinks.

Cleaning the encoder strip fixed the rainbow problem but now everything I try to print in Yellow is Magenta... *bangs head on Falcon*
