Hey there,
My trusty Gerber FX took a dump today -- I was not in my shop when it happened but it went something like this.
machine was booted up ( turned on ), beeped a couple of times, and as the head was to cycle up and down ( homing ) it started to make a loud grinding or buzzing noise. 5-10 seconds it stopped . The display had "fatal error 624 " . This lead me to various troubleshooting sites and to here now.
The machine was restarted so I could hear it make the noise/ see the display - it makes the noise- the Z axis motor is buzzing like crazy and the threaded rod vibrates too. Now the display says " HOMING ERROR " .
Because I haven't had to troubleshoot this machine in the 3 years we have had it ( have preformed regular cleanings, lubes - including the Z Lead screw ) I am wondering where to begin.
This printer has to be off line ( no internet ) while in use ... I dont know if I can check the diagnostics .... Help please and Many thanks.
