Favorite movies?

Okay - so maybe this isn't the most important thing. But I was just curious to see what everyone's favorite movie(s) are/were. The inspiration for this post comes from IMDB, which I just spent about 30-45 minutes browsing old movies that I loved. The list could be nearly endless, but for the sake of conversation, I'll just include my all time favorite here which is:

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Absolutely LOVED that movie. I won't post any "spoilers" here - but I will say that I have never actually THOUGHT about my life overall and especially past relationships, etc. as much as I did/do after watching that movie...

That's my 0.02!

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Great slap stick, riotious dialog, and Gay Perry, played by Val Kilmer made me roll.

Lisbeth Salandar movies, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, etc. Real deal, from Holland with subtitles, and not the Daniel Craig re-make.

I would go more with Ip Man 1 and 2, and Legend of the Fist. Those 3 are my favorite foreign ones. All available to stream off of Netflix for those interest.

As to others (but not my comprehensive list): Big Trouble in Little China, Wild Bunch, Silverado, Sons of Katie Elder, Rio Bravo, Red River, El Dorado (essentially Rio Bravo after the first 40 mins), Tron (actually like Legacy more, I know shame on me), and Rathbone/Bruce Sherlock Holmes. There are more, but the names aren't coming to me.

I Saw The Devil Okay, it's foreign and it's got subtitles but you don't have to read them The story is powerful enough and the acting is good enough you don't actually need the script.
Old Boy - hey look, another foreign movie....but still a great story, great acting, and you'll never think of your dentist the same way again.
Serenity - Space Cowboys and the hero of Canton.
Boondock Saints - just brutally funny.
The Boy In The Striped Pajamas - sucked me in and kicked me in the gut.
Bubba Ho-Tep - Elvis, JFK, and an evil mummy. Nuf said.
Stake Land and Zombieland Stake Land is a gread story about zombies....Zombieland is just damn funny.

They're all movies I'd watch again in a minute except for Striped Pajamas. I made myself watch it a second time and I cried at the end again. I've NEVER cried at another movie.

Now JFK specifically is not the kind of JFK that you would expect to see. The book was better (I wish the Hap Collins stories that Joe Lansdale did would be made into movies, or The Bottoms, another good story of his), but it is a good movie.

One of the best recent ones I've seen is "Fighter" on Netflix. Great movie.

I would agree with that. The first one was a better all around movie then the second one. The second one had some really good action scenes, but to me the story was better in the first one.
