fc5100-130 Y axis alarm----HELP--''

Ok when you turn the plotter on, select sheet or roll1 or roll 2, load media. The head moves slowly all the way to the far left. Then you get a y axis alarm error, any help as this is very urgent as jobs are needing to go out. Thank you..

i dont wanna alarm you but my just did this and it was the motherboard. except mine slammed into the side of the plotter

It could be junk on the rail, a bad motor or what visual800 said. Our FC7000 is doing the same thing, I haven't figured it out yet. I read somewhere that the FC models run some plastic gears and that could be where the problem lies also.
