Feather Banner - bottom up or top down

So while we were working over the weekend to meet the customers ever demanding deadline...... one of the products being worked on was the standard 16' Feather Banner.

question is, how do you arrange the longer words? say you are putting "Chevrolet" on the flag, is the word spelled from the ground up or from the top down?

seems google offers both options and so the debate still stands, that is until the experts here can rule on the verdict

My preference in your situation would be bottom up. Since we read left to right the word Chevrolet for example would look "correct" if there is other text.

However I recently installed some graphics on sign pylons. Those went from the top down.

When I'm tasked with these type of layouts my plan is to have it look visually correct/pleasing to the eye.
