Pixels Are Bad Mmmkay?

I'm doing a couple of signs that will go on either side of a 4' x 8' trailer with a fiberglass chicken mounted to the trailer. The trailer got picked up by high winds a short while back and the trailer fell over which caused some slight road rash on the chicken as shown in the pic. After installing the signs they asked if I can touch up the chicken where it got damaged. Is it possible to paint on fiberglass? It would appear as though the original color on the bird is some sort of paint. If I can paint it, do you think it would be best to go with acrylic latex, or alkyd paint, or is there a better recommendation for this? I've never painted on fiberglass, so I figured I'd better get some advice before proceeding. Thanks.
