Film removal difficult

I did my first Dtf print and press. I've done alot of DTF presses and it has been pretty easy going. With third party films. Mine are not working out so good. Having a tough time removing the film without lifting the print. tried pre pressing the garment, med-high pressure, 140,150, 160 deg C for 15-20 secs. Hot and cool peel. My glue powder looks good and very even. Have to press 2-3 times to make it stick. Not sure if the powder expires if anybody has any insight it would be appreciated. This print has 4 channels of white can that be something.

Hi,

If you let it cool completely can you peel it then? If it’s stuck really good but you just can’t get the film off (the whole film would feel like it’s glued to the shirt in all the areas where there is a print) then at least you know your powder adhesive is good and it’s likely just your film not releasing properly. If when you try to peel it up it pulls the print back off the shirt then it’s likely your powder.

I don’t think there is a good way for anyone to troubleshoot this remotely. I’d try different film first and then different powder. Not both at the same time though. Try one and then try the other.

weird question that just popped into my head from what hybrid design said, are you sure you're printing on the correct side of the film (if there is one, not sure about that).

Wash the shirt(s) in a detergent that does not contain any fabric softeners. Add oxy-clean to the wash, in order to pull out any pre-treatment the fabric might hold....
Or perhaps the print is upside-down....
