It's New England so it's just snow. Around here you think it was the end of the world. No wonder we have an ahole in the white house.

sooo, this is Obama's fault? I thought it was snow. not everthing thing is about politics. high winds, blowing snow, icy roads, yep, I'm not seeing a left vs right thing going on. what I was wondering is anyone calling the storms by the names they are giving them? I have not heard anyone that I know use the new naming.

I haven't heard a name for it! Marlene I think you need to get a new vehicle with 4WD, that way you will look forward for some snow to once again play in. Or you just need to move to Fla. and get a new job:Big Laugh

I was wondering since when was it popular to name a damn winter storm?
I've only seen it since Sandy.

I did not say it Obummer's fault, what I'm saying is looking at the way people are reacting says a lot.

yeah not sure I have ever heard of people getting milk and eggs for a storm before.....

Why nemo? seams tropical and full of color.
Call it Kenny Rogers or something else big white and scary?

they started naming winter storms using Greek names. I think it is pretty stupid myself as unlike storms like Sandy, winter storms come and go leaving hardly impact except when talking about how high the snow got. there have been some like the ice storm, but you don't need a name to remember them, just say "the ice storm" around here and people know what you are talking about. I can't see myself or anyone else sitting around talking about snow and saying "well, Nemo sure was big storm". I know no Vermonter will use a stupid Greek name for a storm so that's why we call it f*#&ing white crap from hell as we shovel "Nemo".

They name tropical storms because so many develop at one time, so as to keep track of them they give names. As in Buffalo they name a winter storm the "Blizzard of 77".

I think they name them to give them a nice cozy feelings towards the storm and it's easier to refer to someone/something by name rather that the 'frickin' blizzard of '95'.

Besides, you can't get angry if 'Sally' destroyed millions and millions of homes, killed 253 people, caused over 75 billion in destruction and so on. It just leaves a bad taste in your mouth if you can't name it and just hang it's misery on a date. You need to place blame on a name.

Over 2ft, some drifts in front of the house and garage over 3ft, cleaning out took 2 hours and the suns out. Beautiful New England.
