Fire Truck Font - Pierce "inhouse" font

Boy sure has been a LONG time since I've been on signs 101. Nice to see it still active.

I've proofed a few substitutes but my Fire Chief still isn't 100% keen on anything just yet. He sent in a request for lad2der / create outlines but I highly doubt they will send him anything.

Try Letterhead Fonts Smalts (LHF Smalts).

RJ Marx in Wisconsin will typeset it for you for an hourly rate. Or as jfiscus said, use LHF Smalts. It is close but you'll be able to tell a difference. The other problem would be if Pierce did the original graphics, there is a good chance it is their "Gold Star" 23 kt. gold leaf, which only a few companies can match.
