Fish Images

Is anyone aware of a good library of high quality images of various fish? Just this week we have had a need for four different fish, and each was needed in a different "pose" (jumping, profile, swimming, etc.) based on the layout.

We use these for boat lettering images and people who fish are very specific about what species they want. Bluefin Tuna, not Yellowfin Tuna; Marlin, not Sailfish.

If we had a good library of images or a good source for those images it would save us hours of searching through shutterstock or istockphoto, only to come up with the wrong fish. Those sites tend to tag marlin and sailfish together for example. I thought this problem was solved with the vast image libraries out there, but they have not been very helpful for such specialized illustrations or photographs.

shutterstock has tons... that same sailfish is on there.... we have a yearly membership so I always check there first.

The top two on the list have all types of wildlife art paintings done by lots of different artists. Authentic Originals and Guy Harvey have primarily fish, but also have bird and mammal paintings. Tony Ludovico has some incredible "face to face" photos with different marine animals. We've had an easy time working with all of them, and they are all high quality and professional. Everything is licensed, and royalties are not cheap but the art really sets your client's pieces apart from the crowd. These may be out of the average price range, but I thought I would post them. Check out Tony Ludovico if for no other reason than seeing some truly incredible photos!
