Fletcher Titan for Trade Show Panels

p410

New Member
Hello everyone,

I've been looking at several trimmers....Neolt, Javelin and lastly the Fletcher Titan. I'll be trimming mainly laminated 17 mil pvc trade show panels for pop up displays.

Has anyone used the Fletcher Titan for this? If so is it suitable for this application.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

We tried out a big Fletcher a year or two ago, (not sure if it was the Titan) but the seller said it'd cut 3mm Dibond. It wouldn't. Not without an enormous amount of downforce.

This info probably won't help as I don't know about 17mm PVC. But be sure and check out seller's claims for yourself under actual working conditions. Don't forget blade wear will also affect the results you'll be getting.

Hope this helps some.

We've got several Fletcher Titans in different sizes. They work great, but I highly doubt they'll cut through 17mm PVC. It's basically a glorified utility knife attached to a ruler. Imagine cutting through 17mm PVC with just a knife, that's what it will be like...

For 17mm PVC you really need a panel saw. Or have them pre-cut by your plastic supplier.

The Titan can handle 1/2" foam core but I'd be surprised if it can handle something like 17mil PVC. The PVC is going to bind on the blade and make it nearly impossible to slide.

(ignore this answer, I'm an idiot, see below)

Don't know about the Fletcher but most of you are confusing 17mm (milimeters) with 17 mil. Two completely different thicknesses. He is cutting 17 mil (.017").

haha my bad, I read that too quickly, thought he had mm... In that case, yes, the fletcher titan will cut that like butter.

My bad....that explains a lot. I've been racking my brain for the last hour trying to figure out what in the heck kind of trade show displays needed that much 1/2" PVC.

Yeah, the Titan will work.
