flexi 8.5 v2 error with production manager

hey guys, i need lots of help! i have a sid 2000-60 series servo cutter plotter. i've installed it to a desktop computer with winxp sp2. i installed it with flexi 8.5 v2. all is well with the program until i want to cut, when i press send to the cutter i get two errors.

first it automatically opens up the production manager but stays on 0% cutting and never moves on from that....

error 1: pops up right when the production manager opens up and says "error: load library Fscut.dll" when i press ok on this another error pops up

error 2: handle of open usb device equals null.

i put ok on this and then i get a message saying that production manager has encountered a problem and must shut down. then i try to send a job to the cutter again and it all starts all over again. always an error with the production manager, never with the flexi 8 program. it seems the problem is with flexi communicating with the production manager because it also sends messages saying flex cannot communicate with production manager even when i check and it is pluged in and on the list of hardware installed.

i've tried to uninstall and install flexi and servo cutter drivers but that doesn't work. i tried plugging the plotter in different usb ports but also no help. i put both programs (flexi 8 and production manager) in the exceptions list on my avg antivirus list so it wouldn't have any conflicts and that didn't work either.

i'm really out of ideas and need some help. is there a program conflict, or is this not installing properly? i really don't know, any help is greatly appreciated!!

Hey M,

It sounds like you might have a bad installation. Try uninstalling Flexi and then reinstalling from the disk. Let me know if you continue to run into problems after a reinstall.

Also, for my own curiosity, do you have SAi branded Flexi, or is it an OEM branded software?

i have two disks that came with the plotter when i bought it, a white one that is Sai branded and a blue one that says sid signs 2000 series. my process of installation is first with sai cd, that installs flexisign pro 8.5 v2. after that install i put in the second cd from sid signs that installs the servo cutter driver. when i first installed it was getting errors with my key so i was told to download the sentinel protection installer 7.6.1 and this solved that problem (having my pc read the security key). but now its the communication between flexipro 8 and the production manager that's not working. i will try and do one more uninstall and reinstall to see what happens.

also, should i have the cutter connected and turned on when i install?? because i've been installing the programs without having it connected or turned on.....

I used to have that problem and I was told to shut the firewall off on my computer. That worked for me so it's worth a shot.

That's a good suggestion. You might also want to check within the firewall to see if Flexi, Production Manager or the Safenet key are being blocked. And if they are, make an exception for them.

Flexi 8.6v2 that should also help.

Once installed, go to help>Check for updates and run the latest service pack
