Flexi and Creation Pcut CTN-630

Hello~

I am running Windows 7 with Flexi 8.6v2 and a CTN-630 Plotter. I can only run one job or two at a time. When I try running another after that, the screen says it printing but nothing is happening with the plotter. I then have to restart my system, then I can print another job or two. I have tried to update the drivers through USCUTTER.
I am a school teacher and we use this plotter alot, so needless to say how frusterating it is to keep having to restart the computer in order to print a students job.
I have been looking on this site and trying different suggested remodies. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Bob

You are running out of memory a friend had one of those and had the same problem.

There is a way in flexi to set it up so that the plotter pulls info instead of flexi pushing info to the plotter. (forgot how maybe a flexi guy can answer)

If you are running several big jobs (big in memory not file size) (memory based on curve quality(adjustable in flexi), number of nodes, etc...)you will have this problem.

The china plotter is not bad for the price to get you started but these are the kind of limitations and issues that you have with them that you dont have with a graphtec or equivelant but you could buy 10 or more china's for the price of 1 graphtec.

When you can afford a graphtec buy one you will not be sorry to spend the money after you us it compared to the china plotter.

How is the plotter connected? Have this installation worked at any time?

I have the plotter connected Via USB. This plotter never worked correctly. It will print a couple of jobs and then Flexi says it cutting, but the plotter is doing nothing. I then do a computer re-start and I'm up again for a couple of prints.

This happened also when I was running this plotter on Windows XP and Flexi 8.1. I thought upgrading would make a difference.

I would hate to buy another plotter as I do not have the funds in my school budget right now.

I appreciate any and all help....

Thanks, Bob

What is the Flexi key number?

You might try this... EDIT > PREFERENCES > TOOLS > CUT/PLOT or RIP/PRINT

Then uncheck the use TCP/IP option and save.

Reboot and try again.

Could also be the USB Driver / Print Spooler provided by the cutter manuf.

Have you tried the CT-630 driver?

you can add a grounding wire those plotters are bad about static and noise especially when you are using the USB port.

To ground it hook a wire to one of the screws on the bottom of the machine then hook the other end to a good ground (like the screw that holds the outlet cover on) try that see if it helps.
