Flexi Contour Cutting

I am having trouble trying to figure out how to contour cut a vector image on Flexi.
I have the newest version flxi, the designer edition, I use Wasatch as my RIP with my Roland SP300.
What I want to do is simple,I Think.
I have a row of vector objects that are actualy text letters (But not text).
I want to drop shadow and then contour cut with a little bleed so I get all the outside edge color.
Outside edge is black, inside is White.
The original vector has a hairline outline
when I go to shadow in flexi, I can come up with the image I like, but when I go to contour cut, there are 2 cut lines.
I know Ive seen this before but I just cant remember what to do!

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

It's better to have two hands than one glove.

Are there two black objects, the outline and the drop shadow? If so make them one object by either separating the drop shadow and the outline, if necessary, and welding them or turn on 'auto-weld' in the cut and plot dialog. Note that the auto-weld feature sometimes does odd things, much better to manually weld than depend on the Production Manager to do so.

Thanks OneUp and Bob,
The welding did not seem to work, It appeared to take away the shadow.
OneUp, I am not at my work computer at the moment but when I get back I'll try to get a pic displayed.
Thanks

Select the letter and the shadow. Then Effects - Contour Cut. Set the distance you want the contour to choke in or spread out. Then OK.
