Flexi won't import AI/EPS

Probably a dumb question but I hvae a customer who sent me artwork for his trailor to be done and he created it in AI but it will not let me import the EPS file. It just loads and then nothing comes up on the screen. Also my other concern is that he sent me the AI file as well and though it loads extremely slow for some reason (it is only 2.62mb) it will not let me break apart so I can go ahead and add contour cuts to it. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Probably it's an issue with the Flexi 8.1 you are running and the Illustrator file being made from a too high a version for Flexi to read. If you send the file to the email in my signature, I'll try saving it back to an earlier version of EPS.

If you can open the AI-file but can't break apart, check if the contents of the file is masked.
