the trouble will be setting up 7.6 on win 7

ive got the 7.6 working on windows 7 with the vexpress r series cutter( which is junk in my opinion) I want to upgrade to the qe6000 without having to buy upgraded lxi software

Go into Production Manager and choose Add Setup and see if it is in the list. If its not there then you would have to take your chances on some other cutter driver working. Not sure when the qe6000 came out but if it was in the past 8 years it is probably not going to be listed since Flexi 7.6 is nearing 10 years old. That being said - I have no idea of specific models but I know others have gotten random cutters working by simply trying other cutter drivers. Most use very similar commands to make them work but some features would probably not work. Of course that is taking a chance on buying the cutter and possibly still not being able to get it to work....
