Looking into Flexisign v8.6, SAi website didn't have any information on the v8.6 being 64 bit application. ( Anyone ? )
We have a True 64 bit system , running 16 GB of RAM ( Higher than 4 GB is only support by a True 64 bit OS )
However, when the 64 bit system looking to run software applications, it can take both 32 bits application by default by using 32 bits emulation to run any 32 bits software on a 64 bits system.
Even though the machine is hardware supported for 64bits, but the software also need to be 64 bits to take full effect of the speed and power to handle all at 64 bits level.
64 bits Hardware System is it also running 64 bits operating system as well ?
Seriously doubt it since all hardware driver on the system must be also 64 bits driver(s). Most likely, the 64 bits hardware owner still running 32 bits emulation and using software of 32 bits without even notice it.
To be politically correct, the Hardware usually available widely in 64bits MOTHERBOARD, and Micro Processor, etc. but usually the 64 bits OS installed on the machine likely running emulation for 32bits on 64 bits system. The Window Vista Ultimate Version can drive 64 bits Operating System at 64 bits Level, but to hit the spot; the software application must be also written in 64 bits code.
More than 1/2 of the software available on the market today still being written in 32bits, so When you installed on the 64 bits machine, you are putting cheap gas on the Lamborghini in comparison.
Gamers, they will get better kick out of the 64 bits ordeal since most updated gaming software on PC is running 64 bits so the Xbox and those consoles still need to catch up with the PC base game running full blown 64bits, with 64 bits video cards, 64 bits sound cards, Dual HDLCD screens, this will put serious gamers behind on their mortgage if they ever work for living! Gaming industry is a MEGA Billions Dollars business. Sign Software isn't anything near that, the the technology for sign software still on the moving but currently at the bottleneck! 2008 NINTENDO Wii sold over 2 millions console beat Xbox and Sony PS!
Photoshop for example, the CS3 can only handle 32 bits with pixel and written in 32bits coding with limitation so when you run CS3 on 64 bits system, it still doing 32 bits thinking, with limit the only a few gig of memory when rendering! (32 bits on 64 bits OS can have some lagging also , may be! )
Any input on the 64bits coding for the FlexiSign v8.6 ?
