I have a client wanting reverse printed acrylic panels that will float off of the wall surface. Any suggestions of what type of hardware and how to attach to the acrylic/wall surface?
The easiest would be standard stand off caps, yes you can see them from the front but they look very high end. another option would be mounting something like PVC to the back and having that work as your float.
3/8 clear acrylic
Optically clear vinyl printed reverse. Back with a true blockout white.
we used general formulation mounting adhesive to mount a piece of ACP onto the blockout vinyl covering a good chunk on the back of the acrylic. We then used VHB and 2 part epoxy to glue on a 3/4” Baltic birch French cleat along the entire backside. We put some spacer blocks along the bottom made of the same 3/4” wood to keep the panel straight.
They look great and this process seemed to work well!
