I have to ship a few banners to different locations. They are 8' x 3'. What's your thoughts on shipping them FOLDED vs rolled? Is this a bad idea?

12oz scrim.

:thankyou:

I have used a few outsourced banner dealers and they arrived folded. I got my money back an ordered elsewhere. If they are so naive as to fold a banner, they don't get my business.

For shipping reasons, some banners will have to be folded. No way to ship a 15'x50' banner rolled, unless you want to ship it motor freight. But something that's small enough to roll and ship UPS should always be rolled.

OK, so maybe I would like to have that problem one day! 15'x50 sheesh man, what are you thinking :D

I can see that though, but in that situation the banner surely is going to be seen from far away, so it matters much less. I would say anything 8' or less should be rolled? Yeah?

Yes. UPS has a total dimension (I can't remember what it is off my head) that you can't exceed. Say it's 150". Take the LxWxH of the box and that's that dimension. Anything bigger and they won't ship it (unless you want truck freight). IMO if you can roll a banner and keep the box size under that dimension you should, it'll look better and save the customer money. If it's bigger than that, do what you have to do (fold that 15'x50' banner in half so it's only 7.5' tall, then roll it and ship it UPS, one crease is better than a whole bunch to make a banner fit in a 2'x2' box).
