How do you guys firgure fonts out so fast is it by memory or what??

In my case I ...

  1. copied and pasted your image into Photoshop
  2. rotated the canvas to a horizontal baseline for the text
  3. ran a threshold to make it a crisp black and white
  4. copied and pasted into my copy of FontExpert where I have about 40,000 font comparison images in the database
  5. selected the "M" and the "S"
  6. hit result button
  7. verified the result
  8. posted the result in your thread
  9. linked the result to MyFonts.com
If that seems like a lot, it took 3 to 4 minutes. The key was that you supplied a usable image. Many of the photographs members post are at an angle that results in too much distortion for a match to be made.

I lucked out and found it in Microsoft Word. Typed your word in and went through the fonts until I found the match. That won't happen often.

Thats cool Fred.

I try to get the best image I can of the font in question so I can bring into Adobe and then I type the text and run through my fonts its very time consuming.

I need to learn how to do your step I have photoshop just haven't used it much yet.

:thankyou:
