Anyone know of any good font identification software that won't break the bank? I've seen Imagaro (http://www.imagaro.com), but it's kind of expensive ($690).

I've tried sites like http://www.identifont.com/identify.html with limited success.

What do you normally do when you are ask to match a font that's not obvious?

Do a search here on both FontExpert and Typograf. I've made a couple of lengthy posts on the subject.

FontExpert is $149 and Typograf is $35.
