Foot Shear

we have been thinking of purchasing a foot shear for use on our aluminum and ACP sheets. Most of the shears that ive found are for 16ga steel. our aluminum is .080" which works out to about 12ga. Anyone using a shear for cutting blanks? will a 16ga shear work on .080" aluminum?

Do you guys use a shear for cutting your blanks? right now we use a panel saw. Fast, easy but the edges (the actual corner of the edge) need to be sanded to get rid of the roughness. This takes a fair amount of time. I am looking for a solution where we skip that step. Also, a shear might allow us to apply multiple printed signs on as one piece and cut after, something that doesn't work with a saw.
