Fuzzy registration mark printing?

Once in a while I notice some 'fog' around the registration marks on my VP-
a print test looks perfect and the actual prints look great. I know the reg
marks print at a higher rez than I normally print at... but can this even happen?

I thought I was going crazy noticing the same on my machine the other day - until I realized I had left the head in "high" position from printing banners the previous day. Didn't notice on anything else but just the crop marks...

Are you printing uni-directional?? Because the registration dots are always printed bi-directional which may explain the issue. Try doing a bi-directional calibration...

It's generally caused by static charge on the media. In this case, the higher the heads & printing speed, the more fog you get, especially on highly saturated colours.

Crop marks are always printed at max speed so highly sensitive to this problem.
