Gerber Edge 2 print problem

Hey Guys, Hopefully you can help me with this, i am printing some reverse decals on clear with my Edge 2, Vinyl is Oracal 751 clear cast, foils are all duracoat.

If you notice in the photos i am getting a jagged edge along the edges of the red letters, it seems to be getting worse as the print progresses (i am printing 10 at a time and the last print is worse than the first)

it doesn't seem to be affecting any other colour than the tomato red, It wasn't doing this 2 weeks ago when I printed the production proof. It is a new foil, could that be the issue?

has anyone run accross this before?

Thanks
:U Rock:

I had similar problems a couple of years back with Duracoat foils and Oracal vinyl not getting along. A given foil would misprint on a given vinyl yet each would print fine when the foil or vinyl was switched to a different color. Our solution was to stop using Oracal for most Edge printing.

Test yourself by switching to a different vinyl using the same foil. Then to a different foil on the same vinyl used in the bad print.

Thanks Fred, when I put a gerber foil in, the print came out perfect. I also tried lowering the print temperature and it made a pretty drastic improvement!

Thanks!
