Gerber Edge Burning film onto vinyl

Recently my Gerber edge has started burning the film, instead of just transferring the color it burns through the whole film and melts it all to the vinyl.
This only happens for about 4 inches in the middle, each side still prints fine.

any ideas?

which brand of foil, which vinyl and software?

Sounds like the foil cartridge may be binding and not allowing the foil to advance.

I agree with Fred, at least that's what I would hope it was. Try different foils and brands if you have them.
