Gerber HS 15 Plus issues

my plotter isn't lifting the blade all the way off the material when it moves from one cut to the next and leaves a shallow drag mark on printed materials and across unprinted vinyl. I took apart the black box on top that houses the blade holder and put oil into the little hole as Fred once showed us how to do a long time agao. I also cleaned all the bars and oilded everything. I can see nothing broken, the little belt looks OK. any ideas on what to do next? thanks

There is an adjustment pad (a little wedge) that rides on the cam shaft. Loosen the Phillips head screw and adjust the wedge so your knife is raised a bit further. Don't get too carried away...adjust it only a small amount and repeat as needed.

You should also be using a Theta Washer to prevent wear on the lifter fork of the tool head. This is a teflon washer that fits under the knife holder. If you can see wear on the lifter fork, you may want to look into replacing the lifter fork.

If lifting / adjusting the wedge doesn't do it, it could also be a broken gear on the motor that turns the "lifting rod". I had that happen recently here and saw that the gear had cracked and wasn't stuck on the drive shaft anymore allowing the blade to lift/drop at incorrect times.
