Gerber Omega Help Needed

James Burke

Being a grandpa is more fun than working
Since we do monument work, approx. 99% of the artwork we do is comprised of line art and typefaces. We already use SignLab, Adobe Illustrator and AutoCAD and we are looking to add Gerber Omega early next year in order to expand our design and layout capabilities, and our typeface library.

I downloaded the Omega Composer 4 demo from the Gerber web site, but it does not allow me to save or export. I would like to evaluate whether or not the Gerber generated files will work with my current software collection before pulling the trigger on either the Layout Station or CS.

Could someone please email me five simple files created in Omega so I could see how they import?

Here’s what I would like: Using 3” high Helvetica, type out “ABCD” and save it in these five different file formats: .plt, .dxf, .dwg, .ai and .eps

If Omega prompts you to select an AutoCAD version for the .dxf and .dwg files, choose ACAD 2000.

PM me, and I'll give you my email address.

Thanks,

Jim
