Had a business partner of mine send me a logo design to put together the other week. Haven't heard back and today i heard his client up and went somewhere else for a unknown reason. They had a logo proof within 2 business days of placing the request.
Yeah, He didn't get 50% down and now is eating that cost but willing to pay me for my time done. Yeah you can write it off as a loss but it's the principle of it.
