Over the years, there's been lotsa talk about the ugliest type styles and whatnot and while some aren't all the keen, some of the fonts in the last year or so, having to be identified for various shop's customer needs, have all of 'em beat. People sure are trying to locate some u-glie fonts here of late. I had no idea there were that many bad fonts and lousy taste out there. I mean, what were these people thinking, when they came up with this stuff ??

That is all. Just wanted to make mention it........:peace!:

Preach it, brother Gino! I open those threads sometimes with no intention of helping, but just to gawk at the appalling fonts that I know will be inside.

It's better to have two hands than one glove.
Exactly so. Some of these faces are such typographical mid-air collisions that I often think that whomever is wanting to ID these monstrosities would be better off by not knowing.

Back in the nineties everyone was a publisher and, apparently thought themselves typesetters as well. Hah! In the next decade it calmed down a bit, perhaps the legions of dilettantes move on hopefully, but now it seems to be coming around on the big typeface wheel of nasty faces and dubious typesetting once again. Perhaps the same principle applies here as well. That being just because you gather up some equipment, software, and hang out your shingle does not make you a typographer. Understanding the nature of type and what ought and ought not be done with it is seldom something you pick up on the street.
