Getting new space organized

Moved in a couple weeks ago to a new place. Slowly but surely getting together in the back area. I built a two tiered shelf for substrates. My goal was to have a place for scraps but low profile enough to to save room. My wife laughed at it, and that's OK, it works

Added an air hose above the laminator, and put up some peg board to organize tools and crap. I threw in a nice ping pong table for my kids.

My lobby is still pretty bare, then I have a cutting room and administration office still to finish. I'll post some more pics when they are done.

Long nights at the office *big sigh*...

2 points that help IMO is put some wheels on the substrate rack, being able to move it HELPS A LOT!
you work table is your transfer tape move to where it is elevated above there surface?
if not you might want to try it.

Thanks for the idea of the substrate rack, should have considered that.
As for the masking, I always found when I am by myself masking larger sheets it is more effective for it to be lower then the table surface. Might be a personal thing. I did notice that all the models you can by are intended to be used above the table, so maybe I am just stubborn about that.

Low? It is the exact height as the laminator table by design. I am 6'1 and I don't have to bend over. Might be the camera angle. However the table has retracting wheels, so I can raise or lower the wheels if I feel like moving it around. The wheels are rigged on a pulling string that retracts them, or when out they lock into place. Pretty slick.

What size is that shop?

This shop has about 1000sqft in the back, all climate controlled, and about 1000sqft of office up front. So, not a big shop, but for now the right size.

My table is 5'x10', I use to have two, but got rid of the other kinda of reluctantly, just to have more space to work in.

I have the heat assist model. So far so good.

The purple rulers are great. Though they are pricey and easy to abuse, so I try to treat them with respect. They have rubber on the bottom of them, and it is somewhat easy to cut into the ruler, and ruin the straight line they offer.

Business has been up and down, but reason for the move is new landlord so had to scoot quick. Found a nice place I can get setup in, just a lil small.

Kinda of screwed up here. I started this thread two months ago, and it turns our this place is already too small for us.
I am wondering if I should over kill on the next space just to be safe, cause what a waste of money to pack up and move again!

Been there done that. It's a hard decision wether to take a small space to keep overhead low or rent more space than you really need so you have more expansion room. We ended up taking too small of a space when we moved to where we are 4 years ago. Back then it was sized right for the time but we almost immediately outgrew it. Unfortunately we put a ton of money into remodeling it and aside from the size it's great for our needs (everybody knows where we are, easy to get to, great landlord, etc) so we didn't really want jump ship on it. Luckily another space opened up in the building (multi-tenant industrial) and we jumped on it. Only bad thing is its at the opposite end of the building so it's a hundred yard walk many many times a day. We're all losing weight from all the walking so its not all bad, and we just got an awesome old golf cart so we're surviving. I'm just thankful we are busy enough to need the space...
