Super work Charlie.

Question....
What precautions do you recommend for the fumes off the EPS foam when using the hotwire? Or isn't there enough fumes to worry about?

What's That SMELL

Super work Charlie.

Good Q,
You are burning plastic when you are burning foam. It can be toxic in a enclosed environment, as any thing you don't want to regret latter in life use precautions.

Open a few windows not just one air source.

I find my ONE Shot paints more powerful then the burning of foam.
For the ones that are used to being in a print and cut shop this is a big change in smells

But the pay is a big difference too.....
This job is valued over $75,000 to give you a idea on cost.

With a job that pays out one can afford a couple of box fans valued at $20.00 each.
one pushing in air, one pulling out the bad air.

Well that is how I do it. LOL

But hey a sign crafter never has a need for drugs or anything else that is mind altering.
We can do that just by firing up a hotwire.

I have to keep my brain cells I'm a full-time children's Pastor and a crafter second.

Again good Question..

Yea foam beads, Ok I don't really worry about the ones I can't find. See I don't have to worry about making it spotless. I don't apply vinyl in my studio. It adds to the look when people come in and see foam pilled up everywhere. Plus it is just a waist of my time I'm just going to be carving again sometime that day. I clean it up good not Great...

Charlie, where the heck you been man? People were worried about you.

I sold off all my companies and went into Ministry. Children's ministry to be exact.

I'm a children's pastor. I go all over helping churches see that Sundays can be fun, with fun themed out spaces. For God created fun.

My latest was a SHINE theme.

So I made a backdrop that had a village with over 200 firefly LEDS in it that faded at random.

Plus I made a mascot fire fly that shows how he shines his light with his shiny hiney. Led powered hiney LOL

I live on the road now as a traveling Children's minister.
I love it, plus I still get to craft.
God takes care of me and my wife everyday.

The money we do make we put it into the ministry to help bless other church's, church camps and orphanages across the us.

I have found I can't out give God that is for sure.

Here is one more that will be in the group.
This fella was a challenge...
Loved the mind twisting and thought process it took to pull this one off.

I am subscribed. Amazing work you are a truly talented person.

I've actually been trying to read up on fiberglassing stuff but for every write-up or forum that I read, the next one contradicts it. Is there a special matte glass that you use? also I hear things about different resins, I think polyester? and epoxy. Which would you recommend?

nice stuff….

My only problem with foam / hard coat / fiberglass and resin construction method is the lack of fine details.

Your stuff looks pretty cool though.
