Getting the old JV3 up and running....

Well I have spent the best part of this weekend trying to get the old JV3-160S running again.
I have just managed to get 3 good heads into the machine, one I have just bought and the other two I had which had been flushed and stored away.
I decided to install the two previous heads alongside another I had that I knew would at least power up.
On installing the machine powered up and all 4 heads where showing no errors.
But when trying to do a clean it came up with an error 30 message.
I swapped around the new head and now I am getting error 07 on the other two.
Now when I plug them into any configuration I am getting the same message.
Also when I install the heads as original all 3 heads have error 7 msg on either both sides or one.
I have taken the new good head out of the configuration as I do not want to damage it.
Help as no way I try I cannot get the thing working.
Just to say I have all new cables, caps and dampers on these.
I have not managed to introduce ink yet as I cannot get to the cleaning cycle.

DIY Printer Fixing Guide
Error 30 pops up when you try to do something that the printer isn't ready to do. In your case, you tried to run a test print with no inks in the machine so it stopped you.

Error 7 is a head heat error which indicates a short in the system. about 50% of the time it's a bad/damaged/corroded head cable. The other 50% of the time it's either the head is bad/damaged/the terminals are dirty or there is another board or cable deeper in the machine causing issues. Error 7 can also show up when you try to print with no ink in the heads but not always.

I would double check your cables are plugged in correctly and that there isn't a bunch of ink dust built up in the print head terminal where the head cable plugs into. Check all of the connectors on the slider board to make sure they have not been damaged or bent. You may have done some damage to the main board during this process which can also cause error 7.

All cables are new OEM, new dampers and cap tops.
Cables are definitely are correctly positioned.

How do I test the slider board, and then how do I repair it, as in the UK their is no one who does this sort of repair.
I am very apt at repairing circuitry so this is not an issue.
But I need to know what needs replaced.

Hi there, I'm not able to help but I have found a decent engineer for my Mimaki - Paul Shorton at YPS Newcastle. He's been a huge help to me over the last year. Cheers Pete

The machine was originally bought from somewhere out in the north east.

Is this guy a Mimaki technician or is someone genuinely able to repair our point what is wrong on the board?
I have had issues with so called technicians before who just swapped out parts in a machine until it started working again!
Which is the most very expensive way of repairing a fault.
