Ghost and Flipped Prints VS640i

I turned on the printer (Roland VS640i) and the prints were messed up, I did a nozzle check and feed calibration test and both are fine. but when i print something, there is a faint ghosting from all colors. but the colors gets printed on the exact print area also expect for yellow, which only ghosts and mirrors. (can see form the attached file)



Here are a list of things i have tried.

1. Nozzle check is perfectly firing
2. Feed calibration is working perfectly.
3. CleAned the encoder disk ( no difference in printing before and after cleaning )
4. Replugged the headboard cables ( no difference in printing before or after. )
5. Cut settings is perfect and accurate.

6. Factory resettled the printer
7. Reinstalled the software to another computer
8. Again reconnected the cables.
9. Again cleaned the encoder code and encoder disk

Is it connected thru USB or Ethernet? Are you able to access the service menu and do a test print from there? What software are you using?

It’s connected through Ethernet. I did the printing from two different computers and the results are the same. I even connect the printer directly to the computer and still the print is same.

I haven’t tried to accessed the service menus and do any tests. I am using versa works 6

Also I have come to know that the issue I am facing is not called "ghosting" and its called "banding"

I have a VF2-640 that had some banding issues. I had techs put new heads, dampers, and a pump only to find out that it was a profile. I changed the profile from the Roland ones, and it went away. Also, did you do a manual clean on the heads?

Can you explain a bit more on what profile u used later ? I don’t understand why this is a profile problem as it happened all of a sudden.

I did clean the head manually a long time ago. After that didn’t.

I wouldn't call that ghosting or banding honestly. To me it looks like a processing error. Basically, the computer in the printer that processes the RIP data seems to be malfunctioning. Either that or possibly an encoder issue but I've never seen an encoder mirror an image.

That could be from the rip software. I use Flexi and Versaworks but have not had any issue with it. Have you tried to uninstall, reboot and reinstall your software?

I tried to print the printer report from the menu, and when this was printing there was no issues

So what does this mean ?

I have reinstalled the software to two different computers. And the results are exactly the same.

If you look closely at the nozzle check image, do you notice that the nozzles itself are flipped. I from the top of u see it’s in kind of a “Z” shape. I don’t remember it being like that before this problem.

The nozzle check does look funky. The small gap between the patterns should be more like a stair step and not wavy. It does seem like for some reason some of the channels have flipped but I couldn't tell you what would cause that other than the main board failing but that's not guarantee. It's a weird one fore sure.

So if it’s this situation. Which board do you think I should change ?
